How are hose and tubes extruded?
The extrusion process begins by feeding pellets of PVC compound into a machine called a hopper, which is a funnel-shaped device used to move the PVC compound from one receptacle to another and then heating them until they reach a melted state.
The PVC compound is then forced through a die that defines the shape and thickness of the tube. Once this occurs, the extruded tube is rapidly cooled in a bath of chilled water, as the cool water temperature helps to improve clarity.
Reinforced polyester twine is now added before encapsulating the tube again with a protective outer coating to give the hose and tube its strength and protective properties.
At this stage rollers then pull the tube through the entire process and cut it into required lengths. As the tube runs off it is inspected for potential defects and coiled onto reels for packing.
Finally each reel is measured to ensure the tube meets the required inner and outer diameters, and our high standards.
What benefits does this process give you?
Allows custom sizes and thicknesses
Due to how the hose and tubing is manufactured, this allows for precise sizes and thicknesses to be created to meet your individual requirements.
Grants strength and resilience
As reinforced Polyester twine is added via the braiding technique to the manufacturing process this enables the hose & tubing to have a reinforced structure which will allow our products to last longer, be more resistant to abrasion and be more resilient to exacting tough applications and temperatures.
Highly efficient and environmentally friendly due to low material wastage
Due to how we have perfected our manufacturing process, almost all the material is used in the constructing our hose and tubing, with minimal material loss during manufacturing. This is both a highly efficient process and highly environmentally friendly one.
Enables high precision & high product quality
As the process allows us to check it at every stage, this enables us to offer a high product quality assurance at every step of the manufacturing process.
Having your hose & tubing extruded by us is very cost effective for many industries due to its excellent cost-performance advantages, which is only enhanced further by our tubings high durability and low maintenance.
